Athina Onassis sells the Island of Skorpios

artasastra-onassisATHENS – The grand daughter of miliarder and king of former ship Aristotle Onassis, Athina Onassis Roussel, sells her family island in the Ionian Islands, Greece. Skorpios Island is offered EUR 120 million (around Rp 1.709 billion). News about the sale of the island was told by the media in Greece, Monday (August 10).

The island was used as a place where Onassis married a widow of late U.S. President John F. Kennedy, Jacqueline (Jacky) Kennedy, in 1968. After Onassis died in 1975, the island was bequeathed to his daughter and his second child, Christina. In addition, when died in 1988, Christina was bequeath the island to her only one daughter, Athina. Corpse Onassis, first child (Alexander), and Christina buried on the island. As a tribute, the statue was built in the Onassis island of Lefkada, the largest island in the Ionian Islands, near the island of Skorpios.

Skorpios Island is one of the group of islands in the Ionian Islands, closed for outsiders. As a private island, Skorpios, built starting in the 1960s. About 500 workers build house of Onassis. House has electricity facilities and drinking water network. Currently about 30 people be in there as a security guard. On the island there is also Pink House (villa of Jacky Kennedy), tennis courts, parks and a vast and luxurious. There are two beaches on the island where boats can moor.
