50 Ships and Thousands of People Caught in the Sea of Ice

Around of 50 ships including ferries trapped in a sea of ice in the Baltic Sea since yesterday. Until this day there are many ships that have not been able to move. This was conveyed by Swedish maritime authorities as quoted by AFP news agency on Friday (March 5, 2010).

Earthquake on 7.3 Richter Scale Shake Java

artasastra-gempaJAKARTA – A big measuring earthquake shake the western part of Java Island yesterday (September 2, 2009). Indonesian Foundation of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) recorded a large earthquake occurred five times in the Mentawai region and Tasikmalaya, Indonesia. Mentawai earthquake happens twice reported at around 09.08 am on local time. Its center located at 60 km southeast of Siberut. The first earthquake magnitude in 5.3 Richter Scale (SR). Then earthquake magnitude lower, 5.2 SR. Fortunately, the two earthquakes did not cause casualties.
